John Abbott

John joined the VPPSA team in 2025 in the role of Regulatory Specialist. He is responsible for supporting VPPSA Member success in managing system growth, diversification efforts, and grid resiliency with governing regulatory requirements. As a former Town Administrator and as Vice Chair of the Chittenden County Communication Union District (CCCUD), John brings diverse regulatory and statutory experience in the municipal sector. John has earned a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Study from UVM; an M.A. in Education from St. Michael’s College; and a B.A. from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and enjoys spending time with his family skiing, mountain biking, and traveling with their vintage camper Bluebelle.
