John Abbott

John recently joined the VPPSA team in the role of Regulatory Specialist. He is responsible for supporting VPPSA member success in managing system growth, diversification efforts, grid resiliency with governing regulatory requirements. John brings diverse regulatory & statutory experience in the municipal sector, as a former Town Administrator and as Vice Chair of the Chittenden County Communication Union District (CCCUD) working to bring high speed, fiber optic internet to underserved residents. John has earned a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Study from UVM, an M.A. in Education from St. Michael’s College and a B.A. from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine– and enjoys spending time with his family skiing, mountain biking and traveling with their vintage camper Bluebelle.
