VPPSA & EVT Announce Exclusive Rebates for Public Power Communities

JULY 29, 2024 | WATERBURY CENTER, VT - #CommunityIsAtTheHeart - Announced today, VPPSA member utility customers can now access to thousands of dollars in additional rebates for home & business energy-saving projects, thanks to a special partnership between Vermont Public Power Supply Authority (VPPSA) and Efficiency Vermont (EVT).

These exclusive rebates can help residents, business owners, and rental property owners save money when weatherizing and air sealing a building, installing heat pumps for heating and air conditioning, and for switching to energy-saving efficiency appliances.

"Municipally owned electric utilities have been powering Vermont communities for over a century. VPPSA’s partnership with Efficiency Vermont enables these communities to access thousands of additional dollars on energy improvements for their home or business,” said Sarah Braese, VPPSA’s Assistant General Manager.

EVT's exclusive incentive offers for customers include:

  • Residential/Homeowners
    • Up to $10,000 Home Weatherization Bonus: Income-eligible households can get an additional $500 back, on top of the standard offer of up to $9,500 back, for comprehensive weatherization
    • $1,000 heat pump income bonus: An additional $800 back on a new heat pump for income-eligible households, in addition to Efficiency Vermont’s $200 income bonuses and other point-of-sale discounts.
    • $200 qualifying appliance coupon: Used toward the purchase of a qualifying clothes washer/dryer, refrigerator, air purifier, air conditioner, or heat pump water heater (on top of existing appliance rebates).
    • $200 DIY Weatherization Bonus: An additional $100 back for completing three do-it-yourself (DIY) home weatherization projects, on top of Efficiency Vermont’s standard $100 DIY Weatherization rebate
  • Businesses & Rental Property Owners
    • $1,000 “Do More” Bonus: An additional $800 back, on top of the standard $200 back, when rental property owners install four or more energy-efficient appliances in each unit or property.
    • Free virtual business energy consultations: An energy consultant will help identify quick and comprehensive projects that can help cut energy costs and increase savings.
    • Low-interest financing for energy projects: Efficiency Vermont’s Business Energy Loan and other financing options can help make cost-effective energy improvements to any business, nonprofit, or farm.
