Established in 1879, the Village of Orleans formed their Electric Department in 1925. Their 5-town service area is close to the Canadian border and the center of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. The Electric Department services 38 miles of line within the Village of Orleans and adjacent portions of the Towns of Barton, Brownington, Coventry, and Irasburg.
