Waterbury Center, VT – Northeast Public Power Association (NEPPA) announced this week the election of Vermont Public Power Supply Authority (VPPSA) General Manager Ken Nolan to its board of directors. Nolan will join three VPPSA utility managers currently sitting on the 21-member board comprised of public power officials from all six New England states.
In addition to his position on the board, Nolan will serve as Chair of NEPPA’s Advocacy and Reporting Committee charged with developing legislative priorities. He will join the board’s Executive Committee as an at-large member.
NEPPA is a private, non-profit association that offers industry and technical training and represents and serves consumer-owned electric utilities throughout the northeast. The organization advocates for public policies and federal legislation and provides low-cost services that benefit its members.
“I’m honored to join the Vermont contingency on the NEPPA board of directors,” said Nolan. “Both NEPPA and VPPSA work tirelessly to make sure our members succeed and thrive. I look forward to using my new role to enhance our combined efforts.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Ken Nolan to the Board,” said Bonnie Biocchi, NEPPA Executive Director. “With Ken’s industry knowledge and depth of experience, we know he will add a new dimension to NEPPA’s offerings. Ken’s commitment to public power and his deep understanding of the issues that we face makes him a true asset in his role as Chair of our Advocacy and Reporting Committee.”
Nolan serves on several boards locally and nationally, including the Vermont Electric Power Company, Vermont Electric Power Producers Inc., Consumer Federation of America, and Hometown Connections, Inc.
