Electrify your journey with a new or used all-electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle!
Description: Electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles have come a long way since first entering the market. If an electric vehicle makes sense for you and your lifestyle, you may be eligible for a rebate incentive to help offset the initial investment.
Incentive Offers:
- $1,250 back for a new all-electric vehicle
- $500 back for a new plug-in hybrid
- $500 back for a pre-owned all-electric vehicle
- $250 back for a pre-owned plug-in hybrid
Income-qualifying customers may receive an additional $400 on a new or used electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle.
Eligibility: Eligible for the purchase or lease of new or used all-electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (AEV or PHEV, respectively).

- By signing and submitting a rebate application, you are authorizing your utility to verify your account details and information with VPPSA.
- This rebate is available only to customers with an active account from one of the following electric utilities: Barton Village, Village of Enosburg Falls, Hardwick Electric Department, Village of Johnson, Jacksonville Electric Company, Ludlow Electric Light Department, Lyndon Electric Department, Morrisville Water & Light, Northfield Electric Department, Orleans Electric, or Swanton Village.
- If applicant is not the utility account holder, proof of residence is required. Proof of residence can be either a lease agreement or a utility bill in the applicant’s name.
- Offer valid for purchase(s) made from January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. Rebate applications must be received by January 8, 2025 to be considered under this offer. VPPSA may, at its sole discretion, accept or reject applications received after January 8, 2025.
- Proof of purchase is required for all rebate claims. Proof of an executed lease is acceptable for the All Electric or Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle rebates only.
- The rebate amount cannot exceed the purchase cost.
- VPPSA reserves the right to modify or end this offer at any time.
- A completed Form W-9 is required to process rebate applications. This rebate may be considered taxable income by the federal or state government. Consult a tax professional for advice and to determine the tax consequences of this rebate.
- Rebates will be issued upon review and verification of completed applications. Please allow 6-10 weeks for rebate processing.
- VPPSA is not responsible for any tax liability that may be imposed on the customer as a result of payment of rebates.
- VPPSA reserves the right to conduct field inspections to verify installations.
- VPPSA does not endorse any particular manufacturer, product, system design, or technology in promoting these rebates.
- VPPSA's liability is limited to paying the rebate specified. VPPSA is not liable for any consequential or incidental damages or any damages in tort contract, strict liability or other theory of liability connected to or resulting from participation in these rebates.
- VPPSA does not warrant the performance of installed or serviced equipment, expressly or implicitly. VPPSA makes no warranties or representations of any kind, whether statutory, express or implied, including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose regarding the equipment or services provided by a manufacturer or vendor. Contact your contractor or vendor for details regarding equipment performance and warranties.
- Other than the energy savings realized by the customer, customer agrees that VPPSA and/or its members has the unilateral right to apply for any credits or payments resulting from the program or equipment including, but not limited to, ISO-NE capacity payments, other electric capacity and avoided cost payments or credits, environmental credits, or payments from demand response programs.
- Electric equipment must be charged in your electric utility's service territory to be eligible for a rebate incentive.
- Unless otherwise noted, rebates are only available for the purchase of new equipment.
Lawn Mowers
- Equipment must be charged in your electric utility's service territory.
- Mower must be at least 36-volt.
Electric Bikes & Electric Scooters
- Electric bike motor must be at least 250W.
- Electric bike battery must be at least 250Wh.
- Electric scooter motor must be at least 350W.
- Rebate applicant attests of intent to use the e-bike to replace travel that would otherwise be conducted with a motor
vehicle. - Where registration is required, Vermont Vehicle registration address must match premise address of the utility account holder.
Electric Vehicles
- Vehicle must be registered in Vermont.
- Vermont Vehicle registration address must match premise address of the utility account holder.
- Dealership discount is currently available at participating dealerships. Visit www.vppsa.com for full list.
- Customers selecting the Dealership Discount option acknowledge that dealership has already applied the rebate to the purchase price of the vehicle. The dealership is responsible for submitting this form and supporting documentation and will receive the rebate amount in full.
- Used vehicles may not be eligible for a VPPSA incentive if a VPPSA incentive has previously been claimed for that vehicle.
- Customer eligibility for customer use vehicles only; not available for vehicles intended for resale.
EV Charging Station / Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE)
- Offer eligible for commercial Level 2 charger installations intended for either employee workplace or public use.
Heat Pump + Weatherization Rebate Adder
- Heat pump model number must be on this list to qualify: https://ashp.neep.org
- Customer must have completed a qualifying weatherization project from the following list:
- Completed Home Performance with EnergyStar
- Completed Weatherization through Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) since 2005 or are currently enrolled in WAP
- Residential Building Energy Standards (2011 RBES) Certificate (2011 or newer)
- Blower Door Test: Maximum Air Changes per Hour (ACH) less than 5 at 50 Pascals
- One rebate per each qualifying exterior condenser heat pump unit.
Electric Forklift
- Equipment must be charged in your electric utility's service territory.
- Electric forklift must have at least a 3,000 lb capacity.
Electric Golf Cart
- Equipment must be charged in your electric utility's service territory.
- Electric golf cart must have at least 100 lb capacity.
Electric Snowmobile
- Equipment must be charged in your electric utility's service territory.
- Rebate eligible for purchase of new equipment only.
- Electric Snowmobile must have a 25kW minimum sized motor.
- Where registration is required, Vermont Vehicle registration address must match premise address of the utility account holder.
